Join us at the final event of the GRINNER Project in Buzău, Romania for an afternoon dedicated to innovation, collaboration, and the future of resource management.

Gathering at one of Romania’s leading centres for electrical and electronic waste recycling (GreenWEEE) – a facility that stands at the forefront of the circular economy in Europe – we will unveil GRINNER’s AI-enabled autonomous robotic sorting system.

The GRINNER system is designed to detect and remove battery-containing items of e-waste before they enter machines that crush and consolidate materials, thus reducing the risk of fires caused by damaged batteries. This innovative system combines the fastest energy-resolved X-ray detectors on the market, advanced machine learning algorithms to analyse X-ray data, and a light guided system to safely extract battery-containing items from the waste stream.

By preventing battery fires, GRINNER not only protects facilities but also helps to reduce costs, improve workers health and safety, and support Europe’s journey towards a circular and carbon-neutral economy.

Meet the engineers behind GRINNER’s smart technology, ask questions and take a first look at the machine! See how it works in real life conditions within a recycling facility.
